RECOVERY
Recovery is arguably the most important part of an exercise program, without proper recovery, everything else is negatively impacted. Recovering properly is a mix of many things done together. Sleep, nutrition, your training load (how much exercise you are doing), how you manage stress, and your environment (where you live or the people you are surrounded by), all impact recovery. Recovery and stress are linked together. When we respond, recover, and adapt well, stress makes us better. Good stress is a welcome and needed stimulus. It is short-lived, infrequent, over quickly, and leaves us better than before. When we have too much bad stress though, this is when our recovery is negatively impacted. Bad stress lasts a long time, is chronic, demoralizing, de-motivates, and breaks us down. Why is this important? Well, it’s important because a properly attentive coach can spot the signs of too much bad stress and knows when there is just enough good stress in their client’s program. At Anchor Performance, we have a program that is tried and true. It can help you reach whatever your goals may be, while also putting a premium on recovery.
