STRENGTH
Strength is the foundation upon which performance-based programs are built. Simply put, strength is the ability to exert force. The other qualities associated with performance, power and speed, are intertwined with this quality, as power and speed require strength to be exerted as rapidly as possible. Without a baseline of total body strength, we cannot properly target these other qualities. At Anchor Performance we use many different methods to develop lower, upper, and total body strength. We use a systematic program that can take any person at any level of fitness and make them stronger in a simple and easy to understand manner. As we get older, we begin to lose strength and power. Although it is not possible to stop the effects of aging, it is essential to build a strong foundation of strength, muscle mass, and power. Doing so can help build stronger bones (especially important for women as they age), make the effects of muscle loss less severe (if you have more to start with, you will be at an advantage compared to someone who didn’t take the time to build muscle), and you can maintain your power or fast twitch (help your reaction time to keep you from falling etc).
“Working out with Liv is different from most weight trainers, as a basketball player, weight lifting needs to specify areas that will improve our game. Liv can specify what you need to improve your game. Starting from change of direction, hip mobility, strength, and flexibility which most trainers don’t focus on. He listens to you and ensures your needs are met”

At Anchor Performance we use many different methods to develop lower, upper, and total body strength. We use a systematic program that can take any person at any level of fitness and make them stronger in a simple and easy to understand manner. The basis of all of this is cycling back and forth between muscle building and maximal strength building “phases”. Doing this will help us gain mass and strength. If you do not want to build mass, we are able to build strength without increasing the size of the muscle as well.
